Ngā Hekaheka o Aotearoa (Fungi of Aotearoa)

 

Calling all science teachers! Manaaki Whenua ( Land Care Research) have released a new educational book aimed at connecting Māori students with their ancestors’ rich traditional uses of Hekaheka or fungi. The book, titled “Ngā Hekaheka o Aotearoa” combines research into Māori knowledge and was launched at Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Ngā Maungarongo in Auckland. 100 Kura Kaupapa schools around New Zealand will receive the student and teacher book.
